Whakatane Police are visiting schools around the Eastern Bay in the morning and afternoons in the Eastern Bay which starts this morning.

Police Sargeant Yvonne Parker said the purpose for Police is to make sure they are arriving safely and leaving for home in same healthy state after school.

It is an opportunity for Police to interact with children to become familiar and be seen walking around schools tending to children. It can also be a time to make sure people are parking properly and have the correct licenses for their vehicles.
