Following an extraordinary meeting yesterday the Whakatane Council decided to withdraw its sponsorship from Toi-EDA.

Although the Whakatane Council planned to dissolve Toi-EDA both the Opotiki Council and the Kawerau Council decided to continue supporting Toi-EDA with the BOP Regional Council looking at its 2014/2015 plan to put $50, 000 in establishing a group to oversee economy development.

The Whakatane Council will now return the $191,000 back into its own account withdrawn from Toi-EDA last December.
