It has been along time since 1900 and 1904 when golf was played at an Olympics. However golf has been re-instated for the Summer Olympics in 2016.

One who may be fortunate to attend is 13 year old Tyla Kingi from Opotiki. Tyla Kingi has been selected for the NZ golf Squad which will play in Australia making a total of 9 teams participating from countries including Australia, NZ, Argentina, Japan, Korea, China, England and Chinese-Taipei.

Father Tatai Kingi said his daughter is excited about the golg competition and perhaps selection to the Rio De Janeiro Olympics.
