Tourism NZ may have the remedy for the thousands of  people who are looking for work for a livelihood by the building of cycle tracks known as Nga Haerenga.

There are several Taupo hapu working with the Government to build their portion of the cycle track named Pureora Timber Trail to the west of Taupo-nui-a-Tia.

The Government will subsidise $5.5million, Te Puni Kokiri will give $2.1million while The Department of Conservation will pay the remaining million dollars or so in order to completed the Pureora cycle track for the opening in March 2013.
