Performances and competition were the order of the day for primary schools attempting to win sections and trophies and a top placing into the national primary schools kapa haka competition in Tauranga this coming November.

After the competition held at Kokohinau Marae in Te Teko three schools won their way to the nationals to represent Mataatua Waka, in first place was Te Kura o Te Teko second was Te Whare Kura o Ruatoki and third was Te Kura o Te Paroa.
