People should be careful when posting messages on Facebook threatening other people with death notice is not one of them.
Police say such messaging is a crime and person charged could face up to 7 years jail time.
This subject was brought about by Daniel Taiaroa when he posted a message on Facebook in Queenstown threatening to kill two people who stole his eftpos machine as well as posting images of the thieving pair.
However Police Senior Sergeant John Fookes suggests the message by Daniel Taiaroa is unwise. Daniel Taiaroa used a script from the movie Taken when the actor threatened to find and kill the people who kidnapped his daughter for profit if they did not return her immediately.
Me tupato te tangata e tuku karere ana ma runga i te puka mata e whakaweti ana i tetahi tangata kia wetoa ōna rama, ta te mea, kei te kī nga Pirihimana he tuku karere kino e maru ana i te hara, mena ka hamene te tangata ekene ka whitu tau te tangata e mauhere ana. He kitenga kua puta i a Daniel Taiaroa nā tetahi karere i tuku i tana puka mata o te wharau Skybar i Tāhuna e mea ana ka whakamate ia i nga tāngata tokorua na rau tana mīhini eftpos i whanakohia me te tapiri o nga whakaahua o era tahae tokorua. Engari hei te korero a Pirihimana Haihana Matua John Fookes o Tāhuna kare te karere a Daniel Taiaroa i te mea tika. He korero i tango i a Daniel Taiaroa i te kiriata Taken ina te huatangata e whakaweti ana i tetahi nanakia ka kimia ia, ka patua kia mate tonu atu ki te kore te nanakia i whakahokia tana tamāhine i kāhaki hei whai putea.
