Toi te Ora have warned the Bay of Plenty that there’s a temporary prohibition for shellfish from Waihi to Whakatane after testing most of them for been infected by algae.

Jim Miller of Toi te ora has noted that the public shouldn’t be concerned as this is only the beginning stages of the bacteria and they will work hard to get rid of it.
