Tauranga Police are pleading with people to take extra care with their vehicles, homes and equipment to hide and safely lock away.

Inspector Clifford Paxton said burgulars are looking for areas of easy pickings from people, but they need to make it more harder for those waniting to steal treaured belongings and home equipment belonging to others.

The public should be alert to thieves who are on the prowl to burgle homes.
