Ngati Awa is calling on its people and communties to arrive at the Maraetotara stream in Ohope this Sunday at 10am.

Apparently there will be 1900 native trees to plant along the banks of the Maraetotara stream.

The task will be made easy for people who will arrive on the Ngati Awa Farm, because the holes will have been dug and the native trees lying close to the holes.

All people have to do is put the tree plants into the holes fill in soil and tamp it down make them firm. The object is to plant native trees and protect the banks of the Maraetotara Stream.
