Ngāti Awa will continue to maintain their right to water according to the deputy of Te Rūnanga o Ngāti Awa, Pouroto Ngaropo.

The water issue continues with government consultation meetings around the country, but Pouroto Ngaropo says that Ngāti Awa may have an opportunity to raise the issue over water next month when they host government officials at Te Manuka Tūtahi Marae, Mātaatua Wharenui.
