Mahora Te Waimana by Ani Black | Jul 10, 2019 | Tumeke Interviews | 1 comment Te Waimana Kaaku, Youth of Kopeopeo and Whakatāne Ki Mua are teaming up to bring the Rangatahi of Waimana together with talented Tuhoe artists, Te Haunui Tuna, Te Marunui Hotene and Tina Tangiwero, to produce a mural in and for the Waimana community. The idea is to see the creation of a beautiful and meaningful mural as a part of the lead up to the Tūhoe Ahurei that Waimana is hosting in April, 2020. This mural will build a real sense of pride and belonging in and to Waimana amongst our Rangatahi and the wider community. The Rangatahi will engage with the artists in co-creating the design as well as receive kōrero of the history of our area and our Tūhoe people.
