The latest Lotto wins for Rotorua and the Eastern Bay are yet to be claimed.
Saturday’s draw in the Make Summer Last Forever promotion saw a Whakatane ticket win $1 million and five Rotorua ticketholders win $10,000 each. A ticket sold in Opotiki won an Audi S5 Coupe and $15,000 went to a Whakatane player.
A NZ Lotto spokesperson said, as of yesterday, no one had come forward to claim the prizes.
The million dollar ticket was sold at New World, Whakatane. Supermarket owner Dave Trubshoe said they had a queue of people lining up at their Lotto counter checking their tickets.
“No one has collapsed or become hysterical so I’m assuming it hasn’t been claimed, or at least not here,” Mr Trubshoe said.
“We’ve got the bottle of bubbly on ice so we’re happy to celebrate with the winner.
“We’ve been very lucky in the past, whenever [Lotto] have these extra prizes, we’ve had two major prizes sold here and now a millon on top of that so that’s pretty cool.
The Rotorua stores that sold $10,000 tickets were Ngongotaha Four Square, Pak ‘n Save Rotorua, Lucky Lotto Shop, New World Westend and Paper Plus Central.
