Local government elections will be upon everyone around Aotearoa vying for seats on councils.

Here in the Mataatua district there are three mayoral seats to be contested in Kawerau’s mayor, Malcolm Campbell, Whakatane’s Tony Bonne and in Opotiki John Forbes. i

All three mayors are seeking re-election in the October elections. In Kawerau Tony Moller will compete against Malcolm Campbell, Scott Jarrett and David Dowd are considering standing against Tony Bonne while John Forbes may retain his mayoral seat uncontested.
