The Chairman of the Murupara Community Board, Jacob Te Kurapa has expressed his pleasure in seeing the drop in crime figures in his town decreasing by 7.6 per cent in the year ended June 2012.

“I am pleased to see the figures this is great news and comes on the back of some fantastic community initiatives”.  Some of the community initiatives include; the youth restorative justice programme – Whakahou Mauri, working alongside young people who are first time low level offenders.
