There will be myriads of people, children and grown ups will be bilingual in both English and Maori by 2040.

Maori Party co-leader Dr Pita Sharples is praising local groups who are carrying the project to ensure the survival of their language.

A group including the Kohanga Reo. Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Ngati Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa, Te Atarangi and Wairoa Tuawhenua. Dr Pita Sharples launched the program Whakatipuranga Rua Mano Wha Tekau today which was held at Te Kura Kaupapa Maori o Ngati Kahungunu ki Te Wairoa.
